CAT RESCUE

WE SAVED A STRAY CAT 🙂

Sunday morning, a little lie in then up to do some boring housework.  I have just baked some Gluten Free bread though, it smells and looks nice.  It is always nice and soft when it is first made, you can even make a sandwich out of it without it falling apart and crumbling.

I then went to put the washing away in the spare bedroom, I got a fright as something moved on the bed!   It was Turbo, he was almost camouflaged.  I had to take a photo of him.   He should be playing outside 🙂  I think he is feeling the heat.  He is very cute for a boy.

On Friday night I had to drive 20 km to meet our Daughter to rescue a stray or mistreated puddy cat 😦    She has seen it for months now when she is working at night. It has not been brushed for years and obviously either is a stray, dumped or someone is so nasty to let the poor thing get to this extreme level.  It gingerly comes up to her for a pat, and is always hungry.   Friday night it was so hot, the Daughter had been worried about it for some time, we made a plan to get it to the SPCA (animal shelter).

It was a little hard to do, but there the beautiful Persian was, I side tracked it while the young lass got it into our cat cage.

We looked after it overnight, in our toilet 🙂 away from our own cats.
I took some photos, of the terrible matting of it’s fur, it was one big matt on top.  Such a beautiful face, and eyes.  I tried to talk Colin into letting us keep it if no owner came forward.  He said no, and in all fairness, we have 3 cats already (including our Nephew’s cat Turbo, we have been cat napping for months = now he is ours).

Early yesterday morning I took the stray to the SPCA when they opened.  They were so pleased we had rescued it.  They couldn’t tell the sex as the poor thing couldn’t sit down easily without being sore as the massive matt and lumps on it’s back was pulling on it when it tried to sit.

They will get the Vet to check it out on Monday and then shave it and then put it up for adoption to a new and caring home.  We were worried about taking the cat, but the SPCA made me feel better that we had done the right thing.

Such an adorable living thing, how can people be so cruel and non-caring.   We are happy now that it should be ok and loved soon. 🙂
