WILLY WASHER

NEEDING A BATH

I’ve not long got out of the shower ready for work, I remembered the special soap my Sister, Brenda and I saw at a Saturday market she took me to in Brisbane.    I went through my holiday photos last night after Brenda posted me over my missing camera.  It brought back some good memories seeing them.

We found it amusing, I should have brought one for Colin!

Oh well, it’s Friday, one more day of busyness and then Sunday ,..possibly a days rest or relaxing time?

I hope the suspected Malaysian Airline siting near Australia is in fact the wreck of the plane, just so they can sort out more details, and so the families can finally get some answers.  I was hoping like everyone else that there may have been survivors if the plane landed on land.   Very sad, I hope the mystery is investigated better very soon.

I’M HOME

SISTERLY VISIT TO AUSTRALIA

I am back from visiting my Sister Brenda in Brisbane, Australia.  I have been home a few days now but have been too busy or too tired to do a post.  It is not from not wanting to, just a lack of spare time.

We had  a great time together in the sunny days over there, Brenda managed to get quite a few days off work too.  One day when she was working I was brave and took the train into the city (without getting lost), making my way to the Museum, to a few shops and then the two big malls in Brisbane, one being the Myer Building Mall and the other one the  David Jones Mall.   The later was only for a ‘look-see’ as it was very expensive and designer, well above my capabilities to buy anything.   I liked the Myer Mall in Queen Street better anyway.. More my ‘cup of tea’ and more affordable.

I took myself to the ‘Nelson Mandela’ movie on the top floor with a large coffee and a big cake of chocolate,…just as well as it was a two hour movie!  Brilliant movie.    I want to see the ‘Railway Man’ movie now with Colin, it must be still on, I will have to check the newspaper out.

I left the movie theatre on the top floor to find a Lincraft store nearby, I found some 100gm balls of pure wool for $3.99. ..a bargain, therefore I stuffed a few into my suitcase.  I tend to by NZ Made pure wool when I can, but this Aussie wool was too good to pass up and I am sure it is of the same quality.

I found out it is too hot to knit in Brisbane, it was around 30 degrees most days with the last two days reaching 36!

Brenda and I spent quite a few days together, I enjoyed that the most. We both LOVED the Ed K   ‘Live’ concert.. that was our highlight.  More on the trip later, have to hop off to work.

Colin is off to see the specialist today, he had a phone call to stay stop the pills he is taking as his blood test from Monday is low, we are not sure what that means, but he needs another blood test before he sees him early this morning.

I will finish with a few of Brenda’s photos, I have misplaced my camera with all of my own photos on….it must be somewhere left at Brenda’s house, I hope it is found 😦

Have a nice Friday.

BRISBANE SUN

SO HOT

Having a great time in Australia with my Sister Brenda, it is so hot, it is 31 degrees already = more freckles for me 🙂

The LIVE concert on Wednesday night was the best thing so far.  Ed sung for two hours solid, he entertains the crowd so well.   Brenda loved him too, we were right up the front near the stage.

I want to go again.

It is Valentine’s Day today, I am missing Colin and our Daughter.  This is the first year I haven’t got a card and small pressie for Colin.   Colin tells me he is doing ok and still coping with a few hours of casual work each day.

I have a chocka suitcase, we have done a tad bit of shopping 🙂

I need to try and do a bit of a walk today at some stage when the sun is away.  I am still suffering from the bloody toothache in the tooth that had the abscess, I hope it settles, I have had to pop pain killers every day.  Am coping ok though.

Two days to go, then home.

Ta Ta from Ozzie.

ANOTHER YEAR OLDER

COLLIWOG’S BIRTHDAY

Last night the three of us went out to Estruscos Italian Pasta and Pizza Restaurant to celebrate Colin’s Birthday.  Two of us had some tasty Gluten Free Pasta, Colin chose the Vension Pasta dish. We all have smelly garlic breaths this morning 🙂

It was a lovely sunny night looking thru the stained glass windows of the Savoy building at our window seat onto the main street of Dunedin below.

We had some homemade Banana Cake (Gluten Free too) for supper when we arrived home, one of his favourite cakes.  He didn’t even mind that it was GF.

Brenda (Buggalugs) ...here I come :)

Brenda (Buggalugs) …here I come 🙂

Geez, I hope I can still waddle over the 5km finish line tonight of the Masters Games walk.   The weather has turned to custard today, rain and wind, damn!   It may improve by 6pm 🙂  Once again I am not great on the short distances as cannot take off fast at the start line , and if I try I get shin splints, so I will ease into it and give it my best shot to complete it.

The best part of this week apart from Colin having another birthday after all we’ve been through is I have a chance to go and see my wee Sister, Brenda in Aussie.  I am off for a well needed break for 10 days to see her in Brisbane on Friday after work.  … I am counting the sleeps 🙂    It will be sooooooooooooooooo great. I can feel the tears well up even writing this post thinking about it.

Bye the way, Colin is doing ok on his meds, he has a few side effects but trying to get through them and is working a few casual hours at his work in the mornings , hopefully it will turn into a permanent and full time job down the track when he is better   🙂

Time to go to work, have a good day.
